wow, first they upgrade xanga
and then steve.....
next they're gonna recall my peanut butter....no wait, that already happened...

this was obviously a very tough decision in steve's life and i know he must have struggled long and hard...i told him i respected him for making the tough decision and i would encourage all of us to make sure we do whatever we can to support Steve and Robin in the days, weeks, months and years ahead....i know they may need some breathing room....but there's a very thin line between giving someone their space and ignoring them...let's not go there....let's figure out this christianity thing is about more than church...

on a different, but somewhat related note,

speaking of tough decisions, what is the toughest decision you've ever had to make....for me i think leaving my family in ft. lauderdale and uprooting me and my wife to follow my job was probably the toughest decision i've ever dealt with...so far....my surgery and emma's surgery when she was a baby were not tough.....i felt a peace...but leaving family was tough....

what were some of your tough decisions???
(my wife might say marrying me!......or maybe picking a paint color for the living room....or maybe staying married to me while picking a paint color for the front room......)

another question....an answer breeds a thousand more....

without questioning a line of questioning, I ask....

instead of asking what is church should we be asking what is christianity?

should the church then be an outgrowth of that spirit? whatever that means?
i know the discussions on jan's posts have been leaning that direction in that people discuss more the why of different aspects of church rather than the how...but as i was telling a friend of mine the other day as they talked about starting a mission church (for lack of a better contemporary church term--we use the term mission as an "outpost" church, i believe, but if you lay the term on its ear, it is a "spinoff" church with a specific mission....? hmmmmm)

anyway as i asked my friend...."why are you starting this church?" their response was a perfect one, "to grow the kingdom..." it wasn't to grow a church or even to grow a community or to do things differently ....it was to grow God's kingdom in a way that wasn't being done in an area where it wasn't being done....to fill a need if you will...a need for people to be invested in so maybe they can find out who God is...it's not just to "tell" people about God...I mean crap, God doesn't need the advertising.....yes i just said crap....oh crap, i just said it again......but i mean, who here hasn't heard of "God"? talk about brand recognition....he's in more countries that mcdonalds....and a lot better for you!

moving on and back to my original post...I don't think it's that we can't find answers or that we're necessarily asking the wrong questions...i just think if all we do is ask q's we're missing the boat...i think we only mildly have to have the big picture before we act...we're not called to have answers...the reason paul wrote letters was that they were figuring it out on the fly...

"....hey we're all Christ followers....now what...okay, we should love and forgive each other and meet each other's needs.....and tell everyone the messiah came and left....but he loves everybody and he's coming back...pool party at my house friday night, bring your unbeliever friends so we can talk about Jesus....

did the early church give up going to tabernacle if they were jewish to meet w/ the Christ followers? how weird would that be going back to the synagogue today for a jewish person saying....hey guys....it happened! he came and you missed him! me and my gentile friends are gonna be down by the well every sunday to talk about him....

but paul taught in the synagogue, didn't he? and i believe he made a lot of enemies along the way, but i digress...or actually wander....

whatever it is.....what are we doing about it......what are we gonna do about it?....is there anything wrong w/ what we're doing now?.....we can't say something is wrong just cause it's not our vision....except for benny hinn...he's full of crap....i guess.....no...., i know.....crap.......

total craps: 5.... now 6.....
